Dan Gresham got a late start on art.
A familiar face to Southeast Texas television viewers after 30 years as a newscaster for the local CBS affiliate, it wasn’t until his three kids finished school and left home that he got serious about spending time “playing” with paints.
He signed his first finished canvas in 2005 and since then has spent countless hours in his makeshift studio. Dan has tried his hand at many forms and styles from portraits to landscapes, but found his passion was abstract. A big fan of square canvas, Dan prefers to use acrylic paints, but as also infused watercolors, inks and pens into his works. A lover of bold colors, it’s not unusual for him to use brushes, palette knives, credit cards or spatulas to achieve the desired effect.
Dan’s plan for 2017 is to spend at least part of everyday learning something new and continue to push his painting comfort zone.
